Holiday home in the Drôme
Where?
You can experience the
good French way of life in our historic holiday home Chantebise
near the picturesque medieval village of
Saou in the South of France
in the Drôme, north of the Provence. It is located quietly but only a 5
minutes walk for your croissant or restaurant. On the other hand is it
also but 5 minutes from our holiday home to the impressive nature reserve of the
Forêt de Saou
with its steeply rising limestone mountains.
You can enjoy your holiday in one of the five atmospheric,
spacious and comfortable
self catering
apartments for 2 tot 7 persons, each with their own entrance and terrace,
mostly with a view on the impressive mountains of the Saou Forest. From these
mountains springs the brook Vèbre, that served as the power source for the
former function of our holiday home as a watermill, that later on served as one
of the two marble-factories in France.
Building our apartments and locating them we have
specially taken in account the privacy of each of our guests.
In spring and autumn too you can enjoy your stay in the central heated or with
fireplaces or woodstoves provided gîtes.
In and
around the holiday home
For all our guests we have in our garden of 2Ha - that
borders on the shallow Vèbre - a fenced swimming pool, a small playground for the
youngest, a football field, a volleyball/badminton field, a couple of
picknicktables and a large amount of sun beds with cushions. In the pool house you
can find a refrigerator for common use and a toilet. Next to it is the
outdoor-shower.
The playroom in our holiday home is for everyone:
table tennis, table foot and other plays, library with books and magazines,
wireless internet, TV and DVD-player. In the centrally located buanderie you can
use washing machines and irons and boards for free. There are also several
barbecues for our guests.
Surroundings of the
holiday home
The holiday home Chanceries is situated next to
the by the French and geologists very well known
Saou forest, which is a
particularly perched syncline, the highest in Europe, with a large variety of
flora and fauna. But it is also an Eldorado for sportive people:
mountain-climbing, walking, horseback riding, cycling, paragliding. On the other
hand is our holiday home just a 5 minutes walk from the pretty small village of
Saou, where you can get your bread in the morning and eat it - if you like - with
a coffee on the terrace under the sycamores. In the village you can find 2 nice
restaurants, a crèperie, a brewery, a small supermarket, a post office and a couple of
workshops of artists. The Tourist Office in the village has a lot of information
about the many cultural, culinary and sportive activities in the region.
For elsewhere too in the Drôme, there is
enough to enjoy and see......
